In the midst of all this, the Danish royal family are playing hosts to the IOC and the world leaders. This afternoon, the delegates and world leaders from the four running cities went to Christian VII’s Palace for a luncheon. They were greeted by Queen Margrethe II and her husband Prince Henrik at the door. Inside, the guests were welcomed by Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary.

It should be noted that after the city is named, there will be further work to do for the IOC. For one thing, they will be considering whether to name Frederik an honorary IOC member.
Later in the day, at the Copenhagen Opera House, everyone gathered again for the opening of the 121st IOC Congress. The Queen welcomed everyone and officially opened the session. The royal ballet performed for the audience.
One of the supporters for Chicago is talkshow host, Oprah Winfrey, who’s show takes place in the Windy City. She tried to interview the Danish royal family for her program, but they declined.
Tomorrow, the big moment will arrive as the world will find out which city is going to host the 2016 Olympic Games.
