The heir to the Danish throne is currently Down Under, where he is competing in sailing portion of the World Masters Games in Sydney.

It hasn’t been easy for Crown Prince Frederik. On Wednesday, his two-man Tasar capsized due to high winds, and then later, Frederik nearly got hit in the head by a swinging boom. That occurred when he and his sailing partner Chris Meehan tried to do a 750 degree angle turn during one of the races yesterday. The two were also penalized for hitting the top marker.
The Crown Prince does not stand much of a chance of medaling during these Games, although he has world class sailing coach Viktor Kovalenko by his side.
Being in Sydney means Frederik is back in the city where he met wife Crown Princess Mary during the 2000 Summer Olympics. Despite being a native Australian, Mary has not gone back to her home country to see her husband compete. She instead opted to stay in Denmark with the couple’s young children.
