Today marks the 91st anniversary of the end of World War I. All across Europe, national leaders are remembering the war that changed the course of history forever.
Belgium’s King Albert II was one of them. His country was the site of some of the bloodiest battles in the first World War. Today he commemorated those who died by laying a floral wreath at Brussel’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
At 11am there were two minutes of silence to remember the exact time the war ended in 1918.
The King then met with some Belgian war veterans. He encouraged all Belgians to remember the sacrifice of those who fought in the Great War.
