Andrea Casiraghi, the eldest son of Princess Caroline of Hannover, took part in a charity auction in central France today. The Hospices de Beaune auctions wine from the Burgundy area, and is the most famous of the region’s sales. This year is its 149th annual event.

Looking confident and at ease, Andrea mingled with the other sponsors, Alain Suguenot, French deputy of Beaune, French
singer and actor Patrick Bruel, and François Sauvadet, president of the Cotes d’Or council.
Today’s auction sale broke records at 799 drums of 228 liters each. The proceeds will go to two charities, Resto du Coeur and the Motorola Foundation.
Hospices de Beaune has gathered some of the wine world’s greatest for about 80 years. The auction is also the best charity sale in the world.
