Today, the Queen of Sweden met with the press to discuss her newly released prayer book. Queen Silvia’s Book of Prayers is a collection of 100 of the Queen’s favorite and personal prayers. 
“I have prayed prayers for as long as I can remember.” the Queen wrote in the book’s foreword.
“I say prayers to be with myself and with God, the power that surrounds us. It gives me security and peace to pray when life’s big questions being asked. I need some moments to process what I’ve been through. In my visits around Sweden and in other countries, I meet a lot of joy but also of vulnerability and pain. Especially for the children. I carry them with me into the prayer. ”
Queen Silvia was personally active in creating this book. The photographs contained in it were taken by King Carl XVI Gustaf.
The book will go on sale on November 26th. All proceeds will go to the Queen’s charities which benefit needy children.
