About The Author

Welcome to my Royalty in the News blog. This is where I share with you my fascination with all things royal.

My point for this blog is to show readers what royals actually do. They do a lot more than just sit around living the pampered life. I feel that while royalty has little political influence, they have plenty of social influence. I would like to highlight the work royals do for their country, and for their people and around the world. At the same time, I will be covering the changes royals are going through in a changing world. Republicanism is spreading throughout Europe, royal women in Arab countries are taking on higher profiles, and monarchies everywhere are slowly giving up their powers to their common people. What royalty and monarchy means in this day and age is being questioned, and I will be adding stories and commentaries that display that to this blog.

You may be wondering what would someone be interested in royalty? Especially one who is a twenty-something American? Well, my interest in royalty began when I was a teenager, during the Charles and Diana divorce. My interest pitched when the Princess of Wales died in 1997. Since then, I have been checking out the latest in royalty – not just in Britain, but around the world – on and off. These days, my interest in royalty is quite high. This is because of what happening in Britain, now since Prince William is finally married to longtime girlfriend, Kate Middleton.

Now, some people would through their hands up and say in disgust “Who cares about royalty?” Well, who cares about Jennifer Aniston, Miley Cyrus, Kim Kardashian, Angelina Jolie, and all the other celebrities that many of us love to read up on on those celeb blogs and tabloids? It’s the same thing to me. I like to read up on other people’s lives when it has little to do with mine. The only difference here, is that there is a lot of history to royal families around the world, and I do love history.

  • Dear Administrator,
Thanks for this blog. You have a great taste and I would also definately agree with you on the matter that Royals do have great responsibility on their shoulders, and they are much worth learning about rather the movie celebs.
    Thanks for this update!

  • Oh and yeah, I forgot to mention above that I’m more interested in the Royals of Saudi Arabia and Middle East. The Middle East has transformed under their wise and visionary leadership, with literacy rates registering above 80%! Many thanks!
