In late May, Manohara Odelia Pinot accused the 31 year-old prince of drugging her and sexually assaulting her during their 10 month marriage.  She managed to escape him during a visit to Singapore.

Now, her estranged husband is suing her and her mother, Daisy Fajarina for 105 million ringgit, the equivalent of 30 million U.S. dollars.

Prince Fakhry’s lawyer, Mohamad Haaziq Pillay, says he would serve a writ on Pinot and her mother.

“They have 21 days to enter a (response)…. Anyone can say anything but do they have proof? This is the time for them to come forward and prove their allegations,” he was quoted as telling state news agency Bernama.

Recent medical examinations back up Pinot’s claims.

She also tried to file abuse charges against the prince, but since the alleged assault took place in Malaysia, Indonesian police can do very little.

Medical Exams Confirms Indonesian Model’s Allegations of Abuse

Last week, Indonesian model Manohara Odelia Pinot, claimed she had escaped her Malaysian prince husband after being abused and tortured for months by him.

Forensic experts revealed Tuesday that the teenager was telling the truth.

“There are slash wounds on many parts of her body, especially on her chest. Some are still fresh,” forensic doctor Mun’im Idries told AFP.

“We are still examining her blood and urine samples because she said she had been given jabs,” he said adding that he also found an injection mark on her back.

The 17 year-old Pinot married Tengku Temenggong Mohammad Fakhry, the prince of Malaysia’s Kelantan state, last year in what many in the region called a fairy-tale wedding.

But the fairy tale quickly turned into a nightmare for Pinot. She claims Fakhry treated her as a sex slave, kept her locked in her bedroom and injected drugs into Pinot to keep her from running away. The drugs made the teenager vomit blood. She even claimed Fakhry gave her the drugs before having sex with her.

“I don’t know what I had been given but I could not move. I could see, feel, hear and smell… my senses are still there but I couldn’t move,” she told TV One channel.

Pinot tried to escape at one point, but was sent back to Malaysia. She succeeded in her second attempt in May by the help of Singaporean police.

Also on Tuesday, Pinot formally filed a written report against not only Fakhry, but the sultan of Kelantan state and his wife. But the report was lodged to the Indonesian police.

“Indonesian police is not able to investigate the case as the alleged abuse took place in Malaysia which is out of our jurisdiction. But we will assist in reporting the case to Malaysian police,” said national police spokesman Abubakar Nataprawira.

Manohara Odelia Pinot, 17, told reporters that 31 year-old Tengku Temenggong Mohammad Fakhry, the prince of Malaysia’s Kelantan state, raped and tortured her during the 10 months she was married to him.

Pinot says she was able to escape him through help of Singaporean police. She is now back with her family in Jakarta.

“I’ve been treated like an animal. I’m like his property and I was in his room and whenever he wants to play with me he just goes into the room and plays with me. I’m like an object,” she said.

Pinot’s mother, Daisy Fajarina, says she will press charges and has accused the Indonesian and Malaysian governments for covering up the abuse.

“The things I’ve been afraid of were revealed to be true. Manohara has suffered physical abuse. She’s got several razor cuts on her chest,” Fajarina told AFP on Monday.

“No parent could be silent if their child was treated in such a barbaric way.”

Pinot married the prince in a “fairy tale” wedding last August. She was once considered Indonesia’s 100 Precious Women.

However, things didn’t go preciously early on. In October, Pinot returned home and complained about her husband, only to be kidnapped and taken back to Malaysia in February.

Pinot claims she was subject to a “daily routine” of abuse, and allegedly forced, under threat of torture, to maintain a happy facade at public events. She claimed she was guarded in her bedroom and whenever she complained, was injected with drugs that made her vomit blood.

“I am still traumatized by all that happened and it has left an impact on me.”

“Sexual abuse and sexual harassment were like a daily routine for me, and he did that every time I did not want to have sexual intercourse,” Pinot was quoted as saying in The Jakarta Globe.

“I could never think a normal man could do such things.”

Pinot claims she called the Singaporean police when the royal family went there for the medical treatment of Fakhry’s father.

“The police told Fakhry that he would be held in jail if he did not let me go. No one could force me against my will in Singapore and I knew I had a chance to escape,” she said.

Pinot seized her chance by pressing the emergency button in an elevator in the Royal Plaza Hotel. Her bodyguards did not chase her since they knew it would be caught on security cameras.

Pinto blasts the Indonesian embassy in Malaysia, saying: “They made it worse by telling lies, saying that I was fine while I was suffering in Kelantan.”

Indonesia says it is promising to help the model. Her lawyer says she will undergo a medical examination to back up her claims of abuse.

Malaysian royals used to be above the law, until 1993 when a new law came into effect.

But Muhyiddin Yassin, Malaysia’s deputy prime minister, said the government would not investigate the allegations.

“I think this is more of a personal matter,” he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur. ” To date we have not been dragged into it, so we want to leave it as it is.”

The visit was marked by signing of agreements and talks of mutual concerns.

First, the Emir was welcomed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin at the Parliament House in Kuala Lumpur.

He then later met with Prime MinisterMohamed Najib bin Abdul Razak, and the two discussed ways to strengthen ties between the two countries. They also witnessed the signing of trade agreements between Qatar and Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Sheikha Mozah bin Nasser al-Missned met with the prime minister’s wife,

Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor. The Emir’s consort wanted to know more about an education program called, “permata negara.”

“Her Highness has given words of encouragement and invited me to visit Qatar to discuss early education for children, especially for those below the age of five, in Qatar.

“She believes that this is one way of ensuring an effective human capital development,” Rosmah told reporters.

The program, which is mooted by Rosmah, stimulates young children’s minds intellectually, and focuses on making the students intellectuals as they grow older.

In addition, Rosmah and Sheikha Mozah discussed ways for Muslim countries to educate the West through Islam.

“We also discuss Islamic fashion where we hope to promote it to the Western market so that the Western people will know more about Muslims,” Rosmah added.

She said Mozah had invited Malaysian fashion designers to Qatar for a fashion show.

Malaysian King Visits Thailand

The King of Malaysia, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin is in Thailand for a few days on a state visit. He arrived Monday morning with his wife, Nur Zahirah. malaysia-thailand

The two were greeted in Bangkok by Thailand’s Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn and Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn upon stepping off the plane.

But it was Thailand’s beloved King Bhumibol Adulyadej who gave the welcoming speech to the Malaysian royal couple at a dinner Monday night.

The King said he was confident that the friendly cooperation between Malaysia and Thailand would continue to yield benefits for both countries.

King Bhumibol said Malaysia and Thailand were neighbors long blessed with the closest ties of friendship based on the solid foundation of independence, freedom, sincerity and equality.

“Such a relationship has contributed greatly to our mutual understanding and cooperation at all levels in various fields of endeavor,” he said.

Tuanku Mizan said although diplomatic ties between Malaysia and Thailand spanned over 52 years, it had not truly reflected the close bond of friendship and family ties between the Malays and Thais.

“As such, the relationship has to be further strengthened through the exchange of visits between the royal families, political leaders, businessmen and the ordinary people of both countries,” he said.

The King of Malaysia also added that he is happy to see political strife be eased in Thailand.

This is the third country Mizan and Nur Zahirah have visited after Laos and Cambodia.

Malaysian King Delivers Speech from Throne

King Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin gave his speech to the opening of the Malaysian parliament yesterday in Kuala Lumpur. malaysia-king

In it, the King called for racial unity in the multi-ethnic country.

“I am saddened that after 51 years of independence, narrow racial issues are still being raised by certain parties,” he said.

“In order to preserve racial harmony and the country’s stability, I want to stress that the government will not hesitate to take action against anybody who tries to disunite the people,” the King warned.

Ethnic divisions in Malaysia have deepened in recent years amid increasing complaints by minorities about special privileges enjoyed by Malays in jobs, education and other areas. Some also say their religious rights have become secondary to Islam, which is practiced by nearly two-thirds of the people. The government has denied any unfair treatment.

In addition, King Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin also stressed respect for the federal constitution.

“I remind all parties to respect this foundation that the Constitution was based upon and not question it.”

The King of Malaysia does not inherit the throne, as do most monarchs, but instead is elected to it. Every five years, there is an election to the highest office in the country.

The King’s official title is “Yang di-Pertuan Agong” which translates to “He who is made Lord.”

The King is also called “Supreme Head of State” and “Paramount Ruler.”

His role is largely ceremonial and Malaysia is a constitutional monarchy.
