Queen Elizabeth II Supports Equal Primogeniture

Last week saw British Prime Minister David Cameron get the ball rolling on changing the succession laws to the throne. Under the current law, boys have a better chance at being monarch over a sister, even if she is the first born.

But now, with Prince William finally being married and the possibility of him and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, providing an heir soon, talk over allowing first born girls inheriting the monarchy is getting stronger.

It is said even William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, supports what is called equal primogeniture and is encouraging Cameron to pursue changing the law.

On Friday, the Prime Minister began to long and complex road to allowing equal primogeniture by contacting his counterparts in the Commonwealth’s 15 countries to see if they also support the move. All countries that have the Queen as head of state have to agree on allowing the first born child – regardless of gender – to inherit the throne in order for the law to pass.

The Queen is said to be pleased that this all taking place just ahead of her tour of Australia later this week. During her trip, she will attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Perth. It is certain the subject of changing the succession law will come up.

Another issue that might change is allowing Roman Catholics to marry the heir to the throne. Under the current law, that is forbidden.

Queen Elizabeth, however, is believed to be less enthusiastic about that since she reportedly thinks it could hurt the monarch’s position as head of the Church of England.

Supposedly, though, the law will insist that the monarch remain a Protestant.

Thursday night saw the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge quietly go to a charity gala at St. James Palace in London. The event was held by the 100 Women in Hedge Funds, a charity Prince William supports, and it raised money for the Child Bereavement Charity, another one the Prince supports.

Before the gala kicked off, William gave a speech where he discussed the pride he felt for both organizations.

“I find it enormously rewarding and gratifying to observe how two organisations which mean so much to me are working so superbly with one another,” he said.

“What you are both doing together to alleviate the suffering of children who have lost family members, and bereaved families who have experienced the tragedy of losing a child, is beyond praise.”

The event raised £675,000 for the Child Bereavement Charity.

About 300 women from the hedge fund sector joined the Duke and Duchess for the gala.

William wore a black tie tuxedo while his wife, Catherine, dazzled in a red low cut dress with billowing sleeves. The dress was designed by Beulah London.

William & Catherine Open Children’s Cancer Unit

Thursday had the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge open the new children’s cancer unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Surrey, England. The couple arrived early in the afternoon and stayed at the hospital for over two hours, after doing a walkabout outside the facility.

Catherine wore a simple off-white Amanda Wakeley dress with a tiny cross around her neck, while her husband looked blearly eyed. Turns out, Prince William had spent the previous 24 hours saving two people as a search and rescue pilot and hadn’t gotten much sleep.

But this was one engagement the Prince was not going to miss. Not because of his sense of duty, but because the Royal Marsden Hospital was the same place where his mother, the late Princess Diana, made her first solo appearance in 1982.

Inside the hospital, William and Catherine sat through a small ceremony in which the Duke gave a speech and a plaque was unveiled. In his speech, William talked about Alice Marples, who presented his wife with a bouquet. 12 year old Alice once interviewed the Prince two years ago for a television special. He called her “inspirational”

After the ceremony, the royals received a tour of the new cancer ward, and they met with it’s staff. They then met with the children who are already using the unit and their families. William took off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves as if to show he was getting down to business.

One of the patients the two met was 14 year old Digby Davidson and his parents. William and Catherine sat on his hospital bed and chatted with him.

“William and Kate were asking when I last came in and if my friends came to see me,” Digby told reporters later. His parents also said the royals came across as down to earth.

“They were just very laid back and easy to talk to, it didn’t feel strange,” said his mother.

Prince William is the president of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and had said he wanted to continue his mother’s work there. Diana was the patron of the hospital.

As for Catherine, she is reportedly getting know causes so she could decide on which charities to support in the future.

William & Catherine Visit Riot Victims in Birmingham

For the third day in a row, British royalty visited one of the areas affected by the riots that shook the U.K.  just last week. Prince William and his wife, Catherine Duchess of Cambridge, went to Birmingham, which saw some of the worst of the rioting. They visited Summerfield Community Centre and met with locals who either lost everything or were attacked.

Click here to view gallery on Daylife.com

Among them were representatives of the three men – Haroon Jahan, 21, and brothers Shazad Ali, 30, and Abdul Musavir, 31 – who were killed in the riots. William and Catherine also met with Haroon’s father Tariq, who, despite his grief, urged locals not to seek revenge just hours after his son was killed.

Those inside the community center said the couple showed a lot of respect and compassion for the locals.

At one point, Catherine talked about how she and her husband watched the riots live on television at their home in Anglesey, Wales.

“Looking at all the young people out and about on the streets, we couldn’t believe it was happening in Britain,” she told Supt. Sue Southern from West Midlands Police.

Later, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went to a hospital and met with the staff and emergency crews who treated the injured.  One nurse had this to say about Catherine: “She’s a real ambassador. She conducted herself with real dignity. She’s extremely ladylike.”

Royal reporters have been noting that seeing members of the House of Windsor going out to the riot scenes and meeting face to face with the victims is very poignant. However, doing these visits had to be very tricky due to security and timing.

“It’s been very strategic,” said Victoria Arbiter on the American morning program, “The Early Show”.

“Charles and Camilla flew from Scotland, where they’ve been on holiday, and went to Tottenham, which is where the rioting started. … Where Harry went in Manchester, it’s quite a long way from London, it’s where the emergency services were hit especially badly. People were throwing bricks at them, they lost fire trucks, there was significant damage … and then, where William and Kate started their trip in Winson Green, it was a community that suffered a lot from the attacks, and the father of one of the men who lost their lives, he’s been pivotal in stopping the riots, he came out and said, ‘Enough is enough, this has got to stop.’”

Arbiter also pointed out that the reason why the royals did not go out to the riot scenes right away was because the locals were still reeling from the violence and needed time to regroup. Having royalty around too soon would have seemed like a photo op.

William & Catherine Charm the City of Angels

After nine days spent in Canada, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent three days in Los Angeles, California promoting British businesses and charities. As they did for their Canadian tour, William and Catherine wowed the people they met – from Hollywood stars to former troops searching for work.

Arriving in the afternoon, the royal star duo were greeted at the airport by the Governor of California, Jerry Brown, and Antonio Villaraigosa, the mayor of Los Angeles. They were then whisked away to the Beverly Hilton, where they sat through a technology conference. There, William and Catherine mingled with British business leaders.

Saturday was perhaps the more exciting day of their U.S. visit. In the afternoon, in Santa Barbara, the couple arrived at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club where the Prince played for the Foundation Polo Challenge. The game was meant to raise money for the charity foundation William and his brother, Prince Harry, set up a few years ago. It aims to help disadvantaged youths, the environment and the armed forces.

William scored four goals and naturally, his team won. His wife presented him with the silver cup, and William thrilled the spectators by kissing her on both cheeks.

There were some Hollywood celebrities watching the polo event, such as Billy Zane, Rosario Dawson and Molly Sims. The tickets to the VIP section cost $4,000.

There were more Hollywood stars later in the day when William and Catherine attended a British Academy of Film and Television Arts, or BAFTAs’ “Brits to Watch”, at the Belasco Theater. Although intended to be a time to promote British film and television, many of the celebrities were likely there to get a chance to meet the royal star couple. Those in attendance included Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Love Hewitt and many more.

Prince William, who is president of the BAFTAs, gave a speech saying, “I’d like to thank Colin Firth for my opening line: I have a voice,” he said, referring to Firth’s role in “The King’s Speech.”

Next day, the final part of their twelve day North American tour, William and Catherine got back down to earth as they visited skid row in downtown Los Angeles. There, they visited the Inner-City Arts school, a nonprofit that provides free classes in visual and performing arts to children from poor neighborhoods.

The Prince and the Duchess went from class to class as they saw met with the children and took a look at their artwork. The two even participated in some art themselves, donning smocks, sitting before easels and painting. According to the Los Angeles Times, they turned to each for directions.

Catherine asked her husband, “William, do you know what you’re doing? Start from the center.” He took the direction and returned to his canvas.

After a few moments, William turned around and said, “Catherine, what are you supposed to do?” She laughed and instructed him again.

Catherine, who has a degree in History of Art,  turned to a boy next to her and asked, “Have you ever tried ceramics?” He shook his head no. “That’s fun too.”

She asked the boy, “What is your favorite color?” He answered green. She turned around to check on William’s progress and told the boy, “William is using his favorite color too”, which was blue.

By the end, she asked the boy, “Do you want to help me do mine?” He shook his head no and said, “It’s your imagination.” She said, “It’s my imagination?” She laughed and added, “It’s not a good imagination.”

Before William left, he turned to a boy and asked, “How is this? You think it’s any good?” The boy quickly said, “Yes.”

The Prince had painted a sort of square design that was very colorful.

When William asked Catherine about her painting, she said, “It’s either a tortoise or a snail. I’m not sure.”

After that, the two went to a ceramics class where they left their handprints in a block of clay.

Later in the day, the couple went to a job fair for military veterans at Sony Studios in Culver City, where the Prince addressed those searching for work after serving their country.

“MissionServe is about something more than men and women in uniform,” he told the crowd. “It’s about our other halves — the half that makes their loved one’s duty and sacrifices possible and worthwhile. It is about you: the families, partners and friends. The idea behind Service Nation and Mission Serve is simple but truly inspiration: to help those returning from active service to open a new chapter in their lives.”

William and Catherine mingled for a while with the men and women searching for work.

And that was that. After MissionServe, the royal couple headed for the airport, waved good-bye and headed home. It was a successful twelve day tour and the newlyweds proved their star power in a city filled with stars.

William & Catherine Wrap Canadian Visit

Friday saw the nine day official visit to Canada wind down for Britain’s Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. It can be said that the tour was wildly successful as seen by the large crowds gathering to see the royal couple.

After conquering (figuratively) Ottawa, Quebec and Prince Edward Island, William and Catherine headed northwes to Yellowknife, in the Northwestern Territories. Although Yellowknife is a remote location and has a small population, the royals once again saw large crowds, about five feet deep.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were treated to native dances by the indigenous people of the area, or First Nations as Canadians call them. They also received a demonstration of street hockey. Despite being dressed in a suit and shiny shoes, Prince William took a try with the hockey stick with the locals. His wife was the one who dropped the hockey ball, but declined to play. Catherine told Gloria Francis, age 16, “I would have taken a shot if I wasn’t in heels,” gesturing to her designer shoes. After the game, the couple got red jerseys with “Cambridge” written across the back.

Afterward, William and Catherine paid a visit to a youth parliament in Yellowknife before flying to the edge of the tundra to have a campfire visit with more local youths.

Later, in what many in the British press called a “second honeymoon”, William surprised his wife with an evening spent on a secluded island with no one but themselves to absorb the Canadian wilderness and what they have seen and experienced during their tour.

Wednesday was supposed to be a day off for the Duke and Duchess, but they chose to go to Slave Lake in Alberta, where they took a look at the town 80% devastated by wildfires back in May. They visited local families and emergency personnel including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Later in the day, the couple flew to Calgary. It was there that perhaps the defining moment of the whole Canadian tour occurred. Upon arriving at Calgary airport, the Duke and Duchess were greeted by 6 year old Diamond Marshall. Diamond, who has Stage 4 cancer, ran excitedly towards the royals and handed Catherine a bouquet of flowers. Little Diamond’s one wish was to meet a princess, and the one she met – in a way, Catherine can be considered to be a princess – gave her a big hug, sparking comparisons to the late Princess Diana.

Also at the airport, William and Catherine were given custom-made Smithbilt white cowboy hats since they have entered Canada’s cowboy country. Some royal watchers were disappointed that the two didn’t put on the hats right there.

But they did wear their gifts later in the evening at the BMO Centre for the Stampede rodeo wearing western style clothes – button down shirts, jeans, large belts and boots. The couple enjoyed a rodeo that included a child riding a sheep. Later, they ate dinner with Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

On Friday, the last for the couple in the Great White North, they were once again in Calgary, this time taking part in the Stampede’s massive parade. Part of the parade included 850 horses, bands and floats, cowboys and clowns, and local First Nation people in traditional regalia riding beaded horses.

About 300,000 people gathered to see William and Catherine, but many were disappointed that they didn’t get a good glimpse of them. Some complained that the vehicle carrying the royals rolled by too quickly. They expected the Prince and his wife to be in an open air carriage.

Additionally, the couple had a rude interruption when a woman broke through the crowd to come rushing up to the car and attempted to throw presents at the car window. No one was harmed.

Thus completed William and Catherine’s nine day tour of Canada. It was indeed a success, especially for new royal Catherine. She handled the long and demanding tour as though she was doing such appearances all her life. Clearly, the Duchess has adjusted to royal life perfectly.

Her Royal Highness will demonstrate more of her adjustment when William and Catherine head to Los Angeles, California later on Friday to spend three days in the city. They will be promoting British charities, businesses and entertainment as they rub shoulders with Hollywood royalty.

William & Catherine Tour Canada

On Thursday, Britain’s Prince William and his wife, Catherine Duchess of Cambridge, began their nine day official visit to Canada. The tour is their first foreign one since their April 29th wedding. The media greatly anticipated this visit as hundreds of journalists and photographers gathered in the Great White North to capture the newlyweds every move. Luckily, the media – as well as Canadians and royal watchers worldwide – were not disappointed.

The couple landed midday in Ottawa, the capital, where they were greeted by Governor-General David Johnston. Crowds cheered for the two as they made their way to Rideau Hall for the official welcoming ceremony. There, Prince William gave a short speech, saying “We have been looking forward to this moment for a very long time. And before we were married, we had a longing to come here together.” William also spoke in French at one point, delighting the people of Canada, but he admitted it “will improve as we go on.”

Later, the couple laid a wreath at a war memorial, met with veterans and then did a walk about with the crowds. Going to opposite sides, William and Catherine shook hands and spoke to the excited people, some of whom were more excited to see the newest member of the British royal family.

In the evening, the Prince and the Duchess attended a BBQ with Canadian youth in the garden of Rideau Hall.

Next day, July 1st, was Canada Day. Still in Ottawa, the couple took part in the country’s national day festivities, arriving to Parliament Hill in a horse drawn carriage. They observed a 21 gun salute before sitting down for the event. There, William gave another speech, both in English and French. He spoke of his wife’s connections to Canada.

“She heard about Canada not from her parents, but from her grandfather, a wonderful man who passed away last year,” William said. “[He] held this country dear to his heart, for he trained in Alberta as a young pilot during the Second World War.”

Calling the event “a day of unity,” William said, “Catherine and I especially are so thrilled and excited by the prospect of the next eight days of being part of the Canadian family. It will be an adventure that we’ll never forget.”

Tens of thousands of Canadians gathered at Parliament Hill to see the couple, some of whom said are visibly in love.

“Every time you see them in pictures or on TV they have that look between them and it will be amazing to see that up close,” Tammy LeClerc said. “They have that special bond. They have something.”

After the event, Their Royal Highnesses went to a citizenship ceremony, where they honored new Canadian citizens. In the evening, the couple attended a concert followed by a fireworks special in honor of Canada Day.

Day three came and the royals started their day still in Ottawa. For their schedule, they were due for a tree planting ceremony at Rideau Hall. The couple took turns tossing shovel fulls of soil for the base of a hemlock tree, which is meant to symbolize William and Catherine’s love and marriage. Hemlock trees can last for 800 years.

Click here for more photos on Daylife!

After the ceremony, William paused in front of another tree, once planted by his mother, the late Princess Diana. July 1st would’ve been her 50th birthday, and William once said in an interview that he thinks of her almost everyday.

The couple then stopped by the Canadian War Museum to meet with veterans and their British wives. It was there Catherine reportedly spoke of her fears for her husband whenever he does his search and rescue missions back in U.K.

Later in the day, the royals flew to Montreal, Quebec – a province home to many anti-monarchists. When the Prince and his wife arrived at the Sainte-Justine hospital, dozens of protesters demonstrated against their visit. “Parasite go home,” the protesters shouted, along with chants of “French Quebec,” “We will never bend, Willy go home” and “down with the monarchy”.

Although in numbers they were overwhelmed by well-wishers, the protesters drowned out them out by beating on buckets. William and Catherine however, carried on unfazed.

In the evening, the duo took their turn at Quebecois cooking and donned chef outfits at the Institut de Tourisme et d’Hotellerie du Quebec.

The next day, Sunday, they traveled to Quebec City where they encountered more protests. Police blocked the anti-monarchists two blocks away from City Hall, where Prince William attended a ceremony to honor and inspect the Royal 22e Regiment, the most famous French-speaking unit in the Canadian military.

“You, the Quebecois et Quebecoise, have such vitality and a remarkable pride. We are simply delighted to be here,” he said in a speech entirely in French. “Thank you for your patience with my accent, and I hope that we will have the chance to get to know each other over the years to come. Until the next time. See you soon.”

Click here for more photos on Zimbio!

Then William and Catherine did a walkabout with the 200 well-wishers, undeterred by the nearby protesters. Afterward came a visit to Maison Dauphine, a drop in center for homeless and young people in Quebec.

Later in Sunday, they flew to Prince Edward Island, a place the Duchess of Cambridge was eager to see. The Island is the setting for the L.M. Montgomery books, Anne of Green Gables and Catherine read them as a child. Part of her and William’s agenda was to visit the actors of a musical theater based on the books in Charlottetown.

Monday saw the couple still on PEI, where William piloted pilot and landed a helicopter on the water for the first time. William personally requested the training exercise to be a part of his visit.

In the afternoon, the newlyweds took part in a competitive – yet fun – dragon boat racing with the Canadian national team. Before the race began, William gave his wife a loving hug but was insistent on winning the race. “There’s no chivalry in sport,” he said.

And win it he did! The Prince’s team won, but with the Duchess’ boat closely behind. The national team complemented the royals on their paddling skills.

For the remainder of their tour, William and Catherine will visit Yellowknife and Calgary.

They will leave for a brief stop in California on July 8th.

A Look at William & Catherine’s Whirlwind Appearances

These past five days have been a whirlwind for newlyweds Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Starting on Thursday, the couple made their first official duties and appearances since their April 29th wedding. These engagements included charity galas, milestone birthday celebrations and traditional royal events.

Click here to see pics of their arrival

Throughout these five days, Catherine kept her cool and showcased that she can handle making public appearances. She showed no sign of uneasiness and went along with a warm smile, as well as William’s guiding hand gently placed on her back.

On Thursday, the couple went to the ARK (Absolute Return to Kids) 10th anniversary charity gala dinner, where they were this year’s guests. They attended on behalf of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry. The function is co-organized by Arpad Busson and Ian Wace, and it focuses on raising money for needy children worldwide.

Crowds who had gathered to see the couple cheered and gasped when Catherine emerged from the limousine. The Duchess had displayed once again her amazing fashion sense by showing up in a glitterly pink gown made by Jenny Packham.

Once inside, William and Catherine chatted with the guests that included actor Colin Firth, socialite Jemima Khan, Liz Hurley and Greek royals, Crown Prince Pavlos and Princess Marie Chantal.

During the dinner, the Prince gave a speech where he said “My brother, Catherine and I hope to use our philanthropy as a long-term catalyst for meaningful change.”

“Programs from this partnership will raise aspirations, broaden horizons and encourage young people to achieve what may have seemed to them unachievable,” said the Prince

“It will generate opportunities in education for young people in the United Kingdom and then later expand beyond our shores, initially to projects in sub-Saharan Africa.”

Later on Saturday, Catherine took part in her first Trooping the Colour event, which celebrates Queen Elizabeth II’s 85th birthday. At the same time, Prince William took part for the first time in the ceremonial parade on horseback.

Wearing the bearskin hat that nearly covered his eyes, William wore the same uniform he wore at his wedding as he rode a horse with the Household Cavalry. Behind the Cavalry were the British royals in their carriages, waving and smiling to the well wishers.

On the balcony of Buckingham Palace, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined the extended House of Windsor to watch the fly over from the Royal Air Force.

This year’s Trooping the Colour marked the first time three generations of British royals participated.

On Sunday, the royals attended church service at St. George’s Cathedral at Windsor to celebrate the Queen’s husband, Prince Philip’s 90th birthday. That was followed by a reception at the Castle in which some of the Greek royals attended.

Monday saw the Order of the Garter Service, which Prince William was inducted to a few years ago. Catherine attended that event back when she was simply his significant other. But now, as his wife, she had more of a chance to interact with the awaiting crowds. Her stepmother-in-law, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, encouraged her to step forward more in order for the people to see her.

If any still doubt the love between William and Catherine, they need not do so anymore. When the Prince, dressed in the Order’s traditional garments, paraded by his wife, she gave him a simple grin. To which, he smiled back and blushed.

Later this month, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit families of those killed in Afghanistan. Towards the end of June, they will also embark on a tour of North America which will take them across Canada and into California.

Judging by the way Catherine has held herself during these past whirlwind days, she will certainly do a regal job for the tour.

British Royals Welcome the Obamas

The United States’ President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama began their state visit to the U.K., which is still glowing from its royal wedding nearly a month ago. The House of Windsor was ready to welcome the couple with the grandeur the royals are so well known for.

The Obamas arrived last night due to the Icelandic volcanic ash causing air traffic problems. This morning, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, greeted them at the home of the American ambassador. From there, Mr. and Mrs. Obama went to Buckingham Palace where they were welcomed by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.

This was the second time the Obamas met the royal couple. The first time was in April 2009, during a G20 meeting in London. That was when Michelle Obama famously put her arm around the Queen.

The highlight for the Obamas had to be meeting the newlywed couple, Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. The two had just returned from their 10 day honeymoon in Seychelles, and this was their first official engagement after their historic wedding last month.

Catherine chatted with Michelle while William spoke to the President. The four discussed the wedding and the Cambridges’ visit to California in July. Catherine handled her first royal engagement with perfect ease, as though she was born to be a royal.

Later in the evening, Queen Elizabeth II hosted a state dinner, in which about 170 guests attended. They included other members of the House of Windsor, such as Princess Anne, and ambassadors, business leaders, leading academics, prominent nobility and even celebrities from both sides of the Atlantic.

Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson were present, as was Tim Burton, Kevin Spacey and Helena Bonham-Carter – who won rave reviewed for portraying the Queen’s mother in the Oscar winning film “The King’s Speech” this year.

As for the Queen’s speech ( :) ), she said, “We are here to celebrate the tried, tested and – yes – special relationship between our two countries.”

There was a mishap when President Obama gave his speech. He was quoting Shakespeare when the band began to play “God Save the Queen”. Other than that, this first day of their British state visit was memorable for Barack and Michelle Obama.

William & Catherine Settle Into Married Life

Fresh off their historic wedding last Friday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have settled into a quiet, military life on the Welsh island of Anglesey. They will go on their honeymoon in their near future, but for now, Prince William has to work for the RAF Search and Rescue, while new wife Catherine intends to be a housewife.

Click here for more pics of the wedding

According to the Daily Mail, the Duke and Duchess want to enjoy the early years of their married life and ease into public life. This decision may have been inspired by William’s grandparents Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. During the first years of their marriage, the then Princess Elizabeth lived on Malta while Philip worked on a British military base. The Queen has said those years were her most happiest.

But William and Catherine are not going to disappear from the public altogether. They have a tour of Canada in July, which would have them spend two weeks in the Great White North. The couple will also make appearances for Prince Philip’s 90th birthday this June, plus participate in next year’s Summer Olympics in London and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

“Catherine wants to enjoy her time with William as an RAF wife,” a source told the Mail. “It’s so rare that someone in her position gets the chance to live as a normal wife and she intends to make the most of it.”

However, there are rumors that the Duke will be stationed in the Falkland Islands off Argentina next year. That means William and Catherine will be separated for 10 weeks. This is because those weeks are considered to be rather short according to military deployment, and there’s no need to bring a wife along.

Since this deployment has been up in the air for a while, it is believed William and Catherine knew this separation would happen and are prepared for it.
