Dutch Queen Beatrix is currently on a skiing vacation with all of her family in their favorite spot Lech, Austria. The Queen’s three sons, their wives and all their children are there and on Saturday took time to allow the media to photograph them.
They even showed off their skiing skills, particularly the young children. Princess Ariane, almost 4 years old, is new to the slopes and had to have her parents, Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima, help her. Meanwhile, big sisters Catharina-Amalia and Alexia skied effortlessly.
The other royals at Lech were Prince Friso and his wife, Princess Mabel and their two daughters, Countesses Luana and Zaria, and the Queen’s youngest son, Prince Constantijn and his wife, Princess Laurentien, and their three children: Countess Eloise, Count Claus-Casimir (the only male grandchild of Queen Beatrix), and Countess Leonore.

Nearly six weeks since they set out for a family journey around the world, Norway’s Crown Princely family invited the media to join them in Sikkim, in northeast India, so they could show their country what they are up to, plus send Christmas greetings.
The family began their three month global tour in Istanbul, Turkey. There, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette Marit took their three children – Marius Borg Høiby, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus – to see Hagia Sophia, which was once the seat of Eastern Christendom before it became a mosque when the Ottoman empire was established.
Next stop was Jordan before the family went to India. Their first stop was in Jodphur before they went to Dzonghu, Sikkim, which borders the Himalayan mountains and Tibet.
In the valley, the royals stayed with another family as it is done in Dzonghu. Haakon, Mette Marit and the children ate and lived just as this family did.
The area is only for the indigenous Lepcha tribe, and permission must be granted to enter the region. The people there live simply, with little electricity or telephones.

When they weren’t sailing in the sea, Crown Princess Mary jetskiied with Prince Christian. Sometimes the Crown Prince joined the two. The little prince seemed to enjoy racing in the waters. His younger sister, Isabella, was too small to go on the jet ski.
Sometime over the weekend, the family went to St. Tropez, the playground for the rich and famous. While there, they went to the Pampelonne beach, ate lunch at the exclusive Club 55, and Mary hit the stores for some high-end shopping.

First, the youngest son of Princess Caroline, Pierre Casiraghi, and his Italian aristocratic girlfriend, Beatrice Barromeo, took a boat ride in the area. Beatrice brought along her pet dog for the afternoon in the sea.
Back on land, Prince Albert II and his longtime love, Charlene Wittstock, went for a walk on the beaches of the exclusive vacation spot. They had wandered over a nudist beach, probably by accident, but kept to themselves – and their clothes on. The couple eventually made it to a safe area, where the sovereign Prince signed a few autographs. The fans, thankfully, were fully clothed.
Monday saw the Grimaldi clan pile onto Princess Caroline’s yacht, the Pacha III. Pierre and Beatrice were there, as well as Albert and Charlene. It is not known if Caroline’s other two children, Andrea and Charlotte, were onboard, but her youngest child, Princess Alexandra of Hannover was there.
As the paparazzi snapped away, Charlene, a former competitive swimmer, took a few dips in the Mediterranean sea.

William and Kate were among the 100 guests, and are said to had a blast dancing to Jagger’s tunes.
It is widely speculated that Mustique is the place where William was to make his wedding proposal to Kate. This because of the island’s romantic setting and it being their favorite getaway spot. But as this author points out, doesn’t the media always speculate that whenever the two go on vacation somewhere?
William and Kate will be returning from Mustique this week. After that, they were separated once again as William does another stint with the military – this time with the rough and tough Special Forces. As for Kate…well, she doesn’t appear to do much, so Royalty in the News simply wishes her well!
